November, a busy month for ECC’s Coast and Cocktails

Both New Brunswick and McInnes Cooper had their time in the spotlight at this month’s Coast and Cocktail events in Toronto. Fredericton and Moncton shared their stories of why they were selected for the World’s Top Seven Most Intelligent communities while McInness Cooper offered an engaging “lunch and learn,” uniting lawyers from Atlantic Canada and Toronto.

ECC’s Coast and Cocktails: An Evening with Scott McCain

On Tuesday June 30th at Toronto’s Duke of York Pub, business leader Scott McCain was the guest of honour at East Coast Connected’s Coast and Cocktails. The President and COO of Agribusiness Group, Maple Leaf Foods Inc. came to speak about the crisis faced by his company in 2008, the lessons learned from those troubling days, and the growing importance of corporate transparency in the new millennium.

BNB uncovers a wealth of ideas during ECC’s policy roundtable

On March 31 in Toronto, East Coast Connected hosted a policy roundtable with Business New Brunswick, and Minister of Business of New Brunswick Greg Byrne. The organizers of the talks aimed to shine a light on New Brunswick’s business culture, and asked Atlantic Canadian professionals living in Toronto, as well as Toronto-based business professionals of all origins, what they thought could help stimulate investment and economic development in New Brunswick.

The shots came fast and furious at Grace O’Malley’s Pub on September 23 in Toronto as an eager crowd heard an “off the record” discussion panel featuring Collen Jones, Rick Vaive, Mike McPhee, and Fred MacGillivray. Hosted by East Coast Connected with the support of FastLane, “Drop the Puck” targeted the challenges and advantages of advancing sports culture in the unique markets of the Atlantic provinces.

TORONTO - On Thursday, March 27th East Coast Connected hosted a private reception at the Spoke Club in Toronto for Liberal Industry Critic Scott Brison to discuss clean and green technology.

Brison addressed a crowd of more than 50 people at the invitation only event, discussing the importance of green technology and renewable energy in Atlantic Canada. Brison highlighted the accomplishments and impact that Atlantic Canadians have made in business and policy; and the important leadership role Atlantic Canada has to play in championing the development of clean technology and green energy.

East Coast Connected Hosts New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham in Toronto

TORONTO - East Coast Connected hosted New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham in Toronto during the Premier's whirlwind tour of Toronto's business community. On February 20th, Premier Graham and Business New Brunswick Minister Greg Byrne launched a three-year plan to aggressively attract new investment to the province to fulfill the Province's goal of self-sufficiency in 2026.
