Smiths Detection of Southern New Brunswick is providing the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games with mobile security units that will screen 100s of spectators. Smiths Detections is also employing another NB firm, Allain Equipment, to construct the units for the event.
"It's a nice engineering challenge, for sure," said Bruno Lagacé, vice-president of the company.
To meet deadlines for the Olympics, his company had to design and finish this project in record time. It is hoped that after the games that these mobile security units will be redeployed to airports across the country.
cbc.ca got the scoop on this high security project.
