East Coast Army climbs the Toy Mountain

TORONTO - The threat of a blizzard couldn't stop the East Coast Army from collecting toys for Toronto's less fortunate kids.

Sponsored in part by our friends at Iceberg Vodka, ECC held a holiday appreciation night for its volunteers, supports and partners on December 15. All those attending were asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to be contributed to CTV's Toy Mountain. And while the weather did not cooperate, at the end of the night over 50 toys were gathered.

This was the second event for ECC's civic engagement program - affectionately nicknamed the East Coast Army. The program aims to bring together Atlantic Canadians living in the GTA and make a positive contribution to the community. The program kicked off in the fall of 2007, raising money and providing some muscle for the Daily Bread Food Bank.
