DESCRIPTION:The St. Cecilia Concert Society\, in cooperation with St. John’s Anglican Church in Lunenburg\, presents ‘Symphony on the Shore’\, featuring Symphony Nova Scotia Strauss and Suzanne Friday\, April 9\, 2010\, 7:30 PM Suzanne Lemieux\, oboe Bernhard Gueller\, conductor Symphony Nova Scotia's principal oboist Suzanne Lemieux takes on Strauss' sensitive and beautifully melodic Oboe Concerto. “It’s among the best oboe concertos and one of the only romantic ones\,” says Suzanne. “It is full of feeling and life – Strauss is a consummate composer and this piece is a gift to us.” The orchestra also performs one of Mozart’s most popular and beloved works – the great Symphony no. 40.
