VP Operations – Masco Canada
Representing companies and brands, including Delta, BrassCraft, Peerless and others that
have over 100 years experience in the Canadian marketplace, Masco Canada brings relevant,
smart solutions for plumbing related goods to our consumers and business partners.
Responsible for manufacturing, product management, product development, sales and
marketing, we are responsive to a uniquely Canadian marketplace.
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation
of Masco Canada and providing regular reports on the organization’s progress to the Executive
Vice President. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Vice President for
Operations will participate in the development of Masco Canada’s priorities and objectives.
Hands on involvement with the machining, assembly and packaging operations will be required.
The VP will also provide input and support to projects from an operational, financial and resource
standpoint. In addition, The VP of operations will assist in establishing and executing short-term
and long term goals for the company’s operating divisions, ensuring these goals support strategic
plans of Masco Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation, justification and monitoring of capital expenditures.
- Report major project status on a timely basis to the Executive Vice President, management team and other stakeholders.
- Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate staff and provide timely feedback on performance.
- Manage the development, implementation and tracking of Masco Canada’s annual operating budget process.
- Identify and analyze information to provide early warnings of potential production/order fulfilment problems and recommend corrective action.
- Ensures the operations meet all regulatory requirements with respect to Health and Safety and Environmental, ensuring that all employees work in a safe manner and are provided the appropriate training and tools.
Requirements:
- 4 year technical or business degree in a related field or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in the management of machining.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a senior management role and at least 7 years progressive eperience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret financial documents.
- Excellent management, negotiating and organizational skills.
- Experience in collective bargaining.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results (lead by example).
- Able to prioritize and focus team on appropriate tasks.
- Experience with quality tools such as lean manufacturing, six sigma.
- Experience in budgeting, and proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
