What’s so great about this opportunity?
Our client is a leader in the processing and marketing of fresh poultry in Canada and is searching for an Account Manager–Food Service, based out of Halifax. Reporting to the sales director food service, you are responsible for maximizing sales of their product line in independent restaurants and institutional accounts through their distributor network. Business development will be your number one priority. You will be responsible for sales volume and profitability. You will plan and put forward various activities to develop and maintain excellent business relationships with their clients and distributors.
How will I contribute?
As Account Manager-Food Service, you will work 4 to 5 days on the road per week conducting business development and marketing of new products for the food service industry through participation in trade shows or any other activities judged pertinent to the business development endeavor. You will participate in the independent restaurants business development planning, and in the development strategy to be implemented for the current and new clientele.
You will negotiate end user agreements with independent street accounts, and participate in institutional accounts agreement negotiations. You will work with partner distributor’s sales representatives to promote company products, follow up on independent customer agreements, have frequent communications with the customer service desk agent and provide customer problem solving. You will maintain and develop business relationships with the distributor clients supplying the independent accounts.
Why me?
You posses a college degree with 5 to 10 years of sales experience, have a good knowledge of the poultry market, and excellent knowledge of the HRI independent customers market. You are well versed in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook. Basic knowledge of French would be considered an asset.
